Arlington Street Park's grand opening was held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Mayor Sisitsky invited all residents to celebrate the newest addition to Framingham's landscape at 61 Arlington Street, Framingham, MA 01702.

Attendees experienced the excitement as we unveiled the park improvements, made possible by a generous $500,000 Community Preservation Act grant. Arlington Street Park now promises to be a vibrant hub for recreational activities and community gatherings for all ages.

All attendees enjoyed a picnic with hamburgers, hot dogs, and refreshments. Many brought a towel and joined the fun at the splash play area.

Arlington Street Park's grand opening celebrated the spirit of community and the joy of outdoor recreation. It was a memorable occasion!

Funding

The Arlington Street Park project has five funding sources. The first stems from a bond authorization under the FY’24 Capital Improvement Plan, which was approved on June 27th, 2023. The second is funded by the Community Preservation Act. As part of the Community Preservation Committee’s FY’23 funding recommendation package, the City Council approved additional funds for the Arlington Street Park project on May 2nd, 2023. The CPA funding will procure new playground equipment and a new splash pad. This project received funding assistance from the residents of Framingham through the Framingham Community Preservation Act Fund. NESRA engineers will handle construction Administration. In addition, CDBG funds and an earmark from CDBG Coronavirus Funding will be used.
