Water and Sewer Service Line Responsibility

Water Services up to 2 inches

The property owner owns from the water shut off valve to the water meter. 

Water Services greater than 2 inches

The property owner owns from the water main to the water meter including the connection at the water main.

 

PROPERTY INFORMATION REQUEST

When looking to make a repair your service line, the City recommends requesting a copy of your property's water and wastewater tie-cards. Tie-cards provide key information, including where existing pipes are located, when your service line was installed, the type of material, and more. To request a copy of your service line, please call 508-532-6050 or email water@framinghamma.gov.

LICENSED DRAINLAYERS

Contractors must be a Licensed Drainlayer with the City of Framingham to perform work on water, wastewater, and drainage infrastructure, including all work on public and private property. Reference the current list of licensed drainlayers (PDF)
