Downtown Framingham, Inc
(formerly Framingham Downtown Renaissance)
Downtown Framingham, Inc (DFI) is a dynamic, volunteer-based organization implementing an active Main Streets program in Framingham's Downtown. The city, through this department is integrally involved in the organization as a major stakeholder and helps fund their director position. Outreach & Technical Assistance
The department provides a number of programs to assist small businesses in downtown Framingham including:
- Helping new businesses navigate the permit process
- Improving the appearance of downtown businesses
- Referring business owners to other funding sources
- Workshops
Redevelopment of Key Sites
The division is working with the Economic Development Industrial Corporation (EDIC) to:
- Develop plans
- Pursue funding
- Redevelop underutilized or blighted commercial and industrial properties
