For Ages 55+ -- A JOURNEY THROUGH ITALY: THE ART & HISTORY OF SICILY -- Join us as we explore the art and history of Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. Every major power in the Mediterranean, from the Greeks and Romans to the Arabs, Byzantines, and Normans has left its mark on this island. The blending of these cultures has produced a vibrant, colorful tapestry of life, art, and tradition. Come explore the culture and history of this Mediterranean jewel. Presenter Paolo Di Gregorio is an historian, archaeologist and educator with a passion for telling the stories of our past. He is a visiting lecturer in the History Department at Bridgewater State University and an instructor in the Anthropology and History Departments at Wheaton College.
