Incendiaries were used by the British as a terror and siege weapon to subdue rebellious coastal colonist towns. John Horrigan presents a chronological view of fires that impacted the thirteen colonies and their fight for independence. This lecture will cover notable fires, starting with the burning of munitions, homes and barns in Concord and Lexington in April 1775. John is a five-time Boston/New England Emmy Award-winning historian.
This program supported in part by a grant from the Framingham Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, and in part by the Rosanne Bergman Trust.
