  3. City of Framingham, Council on Aging - Fall Leaf Raking and Yard Clean Up

    November 17, 2018, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM @ Parking lot of Plymouth Church

    The Callahan Center is organizing a volunteer, Fall Leaf Raking and Yard Clean Up activity to help Framingham older residents who do not have the resources, in terms of family and funds, to undertake that work themselves. Work is envisioned as being done in three (3) hour shifts on those days at assigned private residence sites. A morning shift will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon. An afternoon shift will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. It is hoped that workers will do one or more shifts each. Those working a morning shift would report at 8:45 a.m. Those working afternoon shifts would report by 12:45 p.m. There will be just one afternoon shift Sunday November 18th. Volunteers are sought from schools, scouts, youth groups, church groups, and companies. Volunteers will be asked to bring their own hand tools, rakes, electric blowers, and gloves, etc. Groups must have adult supervision – leaders, teachers, parents, must be present, where individuals are 13 years of age or under.

  5. Saxonville Mills Open Studios

    Saxonville Mills will hold its second semi-annual Open Studios this weekend on November 17 and 18, 12-5pm. More than 15 businesses and non-profits will open their doors for tours, demonstrations and shopping opportunities. Historian Kevin Swope will once again do a Mills Tour on both 11/17 and 11/18 at 2pm. Trolley Dogs food truck will come Saturday at lunch time for a few hours. We are also pleased to announce the recent addition of 65 parking spaces located in the Watson Place parking area. Look for the Event signs at the primary entries to the complex off Concord Street.
