Since Monday, Six Residents Have Tested Positive, 13 More have Recovered, and 
City Learns of One New Fatality Related to COVID-19;
Additional City Facilities to Open Monday, June 29

  • Since Monday, six residents have tested positive, 13 more have recovered, and City learns of one new fatality related to COVID-19The number of people in the City who have tested positive for COVID-19 is 1,719. With 1,410 cases recovered and 110 fatalities, Framingham currently has 199 active cases. The Framingham Health Department contacts the people who were potentially exposed and the owners of the businesses or places of employment where the potential exposures occurred to inform and counsel them on next steps (contact tracing). In addition to the active cases, the Health Department is following 95 residents in quarantine.

  • Framingham to open the following additional City facilities to the public Monday, June 29:
    • Retirement Office, 150 Concord Street, Room B-31, Framingham, Mon., Wed., Thurs., 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.; Tues., 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Fri., 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m., (by appointment only by calling 508-532-5465).
    • City Basketball Courts, open daily until dusk, lighted courts until 10 p.m. (Skills and drills allowed. No games, scrimmages or tournaments until further notice.)
    • Athletic Fields and Permits, various locations, please call 508-532-5960 for information. (Group size limited to 12 including coaches. No games, scrimmages, or tournaments until further notice.)
    • Parks and Recreation Summer Program registration is now open. View offerings and updates here.
    • Beaches will open the week of June 29. Lifeguards will staff beaches July 1-August 9, 2020, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Register for a free resident beach tag beginning Friday, June 26.

      All facilities will undergo appropriate cleaning, disinfecting, and trash removal each day. Per Governor Baker’s Order and the City of Framingham’s Emergency Order, face coverings will be required for entry into any City facility. Residents are also asked to practice social distancing.
