City Seeking Volunteers for the Framingham Traffic Commission

 

FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham is seeking applicants to fill multiple seats on the Traffic Commission.

 

The City of Framingham Charter defines the specific membership of the Traffic Commission.   The police chief, the fire chief, the director of public works, the superintendent of schools, may serve on the Commission or appoint a designee.

 

The Mayor appoints a total of four residents to the Commission.

 

Two residents are appointed at-large. 

 

One resident must be from the business community.

 

One resident must be from the downtown area, which is defined as a “one-mile radius of the intersection of Routes 126 and 135.”

 

The Mayor is seeking applicants for an at-large seat, a business community seat, and the downtown seat.

The deadline to apply is Friday, December 29.

 

Nominations must be confirmed by the 11-member City Council, the legislative branch of City government.
