City of Framingham Seeking Applicants

for Seat on Traffic Commission

FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham is seeking applicants to fill multiple seats on the 8-member Traffic Commission.

The City of Framingham Charter defines the specific membership of the Traffic Commission.  The police chief, the fire chief, the director of public works, and the superintendent of schools may serve on the Commission or appoint a designee.

The Mayor appoints four residents to the Commission.

Two residents are appointed at-large. One resident must be from the business community and one resident must be from the downtown area, which is defined as a “one-mile radius of the intersection of Routes 126 and 135.”

Nominations must be confirmed by the 11-member City Council.

Resident terms are for 3 years.

The Mayor is seeking applicants for an at-large seat, a business community seat, and the downtown seat to begin a 3-year term starting July 2023.
