Women's History Month

Women's History Month

Rosa Parks, Anne Frank, Amelia Earhart, Jane Goodall, Oprah Winfrey, Hellen Keller, Elizabeth Eckford, Barbara Walters, Christa McAuliffe, Katherine Switzer, Harriet Tubman, Althea Gibson, Ellen Ochoa, the Honorable Sonia Sotomayor, Tammy Duckworth. This is just a minute list of the countless women who have, throughout the course of history, accomplished astounding feats in the face of insurmountable odds. Their efforts have created a better and more equitable society for future generations.
In the month of March, let’s reaffirm our commitment to recognize, celebrate and advance the rights and opportunities of women and girls around the country and in our community. Things you can do to celebrate #WomensHistoryMonth:
• Mentor a young woman in your community
• Start a book club featuring woman authors
• Eat or shop at a local woman-owned business
• Purchase a piece of art from a woman artist
• Support a charity that provides to women and children
• Donate clothing to an organization that assists women entering or reentering the workforce
• Watch a movie or documentary directed by, produced by, or starring a woman
• Write a thank you or appreciation letter to a woman in your life
