Mayor Spicer's Minute

  1. Community Hour - What's Happening at your Callahan Center: All are welcome to attend Community Hour Tuesday, October 12, at 5 p.m. Please join Mayor Spicer, Grace O'Donnell, Director of Elder Services Council on Aging and Callahan Center, and Clyde Dottin, Chair of the Council on Aging, to learn about the services and programs for Framingham's older adults. Attendees will be able to pose questions during the hour via Zoom's Chat function. If you cannot attend and have questions, please email kmcfalls@framinghamma.gov with the subject line: October 12 Community Hour. Zoom information on how to join is here. A video recording of the Zoom will be available following for those who cannot attend.

  2. Want to Improve Transportation in the City?: Attend the next Transportation Master Plan, Phase II, virtual public meeting on Thursday, October 21, at 6 p.m. Framingham's Department of Public Works and their consultant, VHB, will host the meeting, and residents will have the opportunity to provide feedback about proposed improvements. Please note, to experience the full capability of this meeting and the breakout rooms, the City recommends utilizing a computer or smartphone device.   3. Officer Read Aloud Program Restarted Last Week: Framingham's Police Department was back in the Framingham Public Schools last week as they restarted Officer Read Aloud. Officers visited the McCarthy Elementary School and read to the second graders. Over the course of the school year, our officers will continue to visit second-grade classes and read to students.

  4. 72% of Framingham's Population is Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19: According to 2020 U.S. Census numbers, Framingham has a population of 72,362. As of the City's data report from October 6, 2021, 52,056 people in the City were fully vaccinated, which equates to 72%.

  5. Interesting Programs for Framingham’s Older Adults: Check out the terrific Callahan Center Learning & Cultural Programs happening this month, both in-person and virtually.

  6. Watch First Episode of New Framingham Business Leaders Discussion Series: Erika Oliver Jerram, Acting Director, Framingham Planning & Community Development, interviews Gabriele Brambilla, CEO of Alira Health (Framingham healthcare and life science company). The intent of the new series is to promote the City as a great place to do business.
