*COVID-19 VACCINE UPDATE*
City Residents Reporting Difficulty Scheduling COVID-19 Vaccination Appointments through State

Framingham, MA – The Mayor's office, Callahan Center, and the City's Information Line have been fielding calls from residents who qualify for Phase Two of COVID-19 Vaccinations, which begins Monday, February 1. The qualifying residents have had difficulties scheduling their COVID-19 vaccinations through the State of Massachusetts. The City has been informed that COVID-19 vaccine supplies are limited at this time, so appointments are difficult to find. As more vaccine becomes available, appointments will increase on a rolling level.

"I know it is frustrating when the solution seems so close at hand," said Mayor Yvonne M. Spicer. "Availability of vaccine supplies will increase. Please be patient, monitor the State's website, and continue to focus on mask-wearing, maintaining distance from others, frequent hand cleaning, and staying home if you have COVID-19 symptoms to protect you and others from the virus while you wait to be vaccinated."

Vaccination Q&A

  • Where can I get the COVID-19 vaccine? Check out the following link where vaccination appointments might be available: www.mass.gov/vaccine
  • Who can get the COVID-19 vaccine? Phase Two begins Monday, February 1. The first group of people to be vaccinated during this phase are adults age 75 and older.
  • Why is the Framingham Health Department not hosting public vaccination clinics? Given limited vaccine supplies, the State of Massachusetts is not allocating local health departments vaccine for large public clinics. There are no Framingham Health Department public clinics scheduled for adults 75 and older at this time.

It's important to recognize that Phase Two includes a large group of people and is scheduled February-April. Not everyone will be able to be vaccinated immediately while supplies remain limited.
