Today, for the First Time Since March, No Residents Tested Positive for COVID-19
Twelve People have Recovered, and City Learns of One Fatality Related to the Virus;
Additional City Facilities to Open Monday, June 15, 2020

  • Today, for the first time since March, no residents tested positive for COVID-19twelve more have recovered, and the City learns of one new fatality related to the VirusThe number of people in the City who have tested positive for COVID-19 remains 1,697. With 1,265 cases recovered and 100 fatalities, Framingham currently has 332 active cases. The Framingham Health Department contacts the people who were potentially exposed and the owners of the businesses or places of employment where the potential exposures occurred to inform and counsel them on next steps (contact tracing). In addition to the active cases, the Framingham Health Department currently is following 132 residents in quarantine.

  • Framingham to open additional facilities Monday, June 15, 2020: The following City facilities will be open to the public next week.
    • Framingham Public Library Accepting Walk-up Contactless Returns, Main Library, 49 Lexington Street, Mon.-Tues., 1-4 p.m. and Wed.-Thurs., 9 a.m.-12 p.m., and McAuliffe Branch Library, 746 Water Street, Mon.-Tues. 9 a.m.-12 p.m., and Wed.-Thurs., 1-4 p.m.
    • City Tennis Courts, open daily until dusk, lighted courts open until 10 p.m. (Courts limited to single matches with family members.)
    • Bowditch Track, 475 Union Avenue, open daily from dawn to 10 p.m. (Users of track expected to abide by proper social distancing. Track to be closed if overcrowding is observed or social distancing ignored.)
    • Bocce Courts, Farm Pond on Dudley Road, open from dawn to dusk.
    • Pratt Street Community Garden, 48 Pratt Street, open from dawn to dusk.
    • Skate Park, Farm Pond Park on Dudley Road, open from dawn to dusk

      Every Wednesday, the City will announce progress to reopening Framingham facilities. Each facility will undergo appropriate cleaning, disinfecting, and trash removal each day. Per Governor Baker’s Order and the City of Framingham’s Emergency Order, face coverings will be required for entry into any City facility. Residents are also asked to practice social distancing.
