  • Twenty-seven additional residents test positive for COVID-19, and 38 more people have recovered from the virus: The number of people in the City who have tested positive for COVID-19 is now 1,350. With 490 cases recovered and 66 fatalities, Framingham currently has 794 active cases. The Framingham Health Department contacts the people who were potentially exposed and the owners of the businesses or places of employment where the potential exposures occurred to inform and counsel them on next steps (contact tracing). In addition to the active cases, the Framingham Health Department currently is following 273 residents in quarantine.

  • City to distribute donated cloth face coverings: Last month, Framingham began collecting donated homemade cloth face coverings, and the City is now distributing them. To encourage social distancing, the City will distribute the coverings through a variety of established channels such as the Callahan Center for older adults, the Framingham Public Schools (involved with the Food Donation Program) for students, and community organizations for their clients. Individuals who wish to request a face covering can call the Framingham Emergency Operations Center at (508) 532-5800. Distribution information is available in Portuguese and Spanish. Guidance from the Health Department on how to properly wash, wear, and remove cloth face coverings is available here.
