Twenty-nine Additional Residents Test Positive, 26 More People have Recovered,
City Learns of Six New COVID-19-related Fatalities;
Reminder: Resources for Those Experiencing Food Insecurity

  • Twenty-nine additional residents test positive for COVID-19, Twenty-six more people have recovered from the virus, and City learns of six new fatalities: The number of people in the City who have tested positive for COVID-19 is now 1,323. The six fatalities are connected to long term care and skilled nursing facilities. With 452 cases recovered and 66 fatalities, Framingham currently has 805 active cases. The Framingham Health Department contacts the people who were potentially exposed and the owners of the businesses or places of employment where the potential exposures occurred to inform and counsel them on next steps (contact tracing). In addition to the active cases, the Framingham Health Department currently is following 282 residents in quarantine.

  • Food resources for those experiencing food insecurity: The Mayor’s Office and the Framingham Public Schools are working with local food providers to coordinate food access and/or delivery to Framingham residents. The generosity of Framingham is demonstrated by several new resources added to the Food and Donation Information Page. The City recognizes that some residents are experiencing extreme food emergencies and cannot reach the resources noted on the page. A Food Emergency phone number has been set up. Every effort will be made to meet the needs of these emergencies. Someone having an extreme food emergency is defined as a person who:

    • Has no ability to access other food resources in Framingham.
    • Has no formal or informal networks of support for help getting food.
