Residents Have a Say in How the City Plans and Uses its Open Spaces and Recreational Areas

FRAMINGHAM, MA – Today, the City of Framingham announced that it is updating the 2020 Open Space & Recreation Plan and will solicit input from the community throughout the process. The Open Space & Recreation Plan is a guide help protect, manage, improve, and expand Framingham’s open space and recreation resources in the face of continuing development pressures. The Plan takes inventory of existing amenities and sets goals for increasing and improving these amenities.

Do you walk on trails in Framingham? Does your family play at local playgrounds or ballfields? Do you like to explore the wooded areas of the community, like Wittenborg Woods? Do you swim at the local beaches, enjoy Farm Pond Park amenities, or skate at Loring Arena? Do you wish to learn more about these amenities or plan on utilizing them in the future? If so, the City needs your input!

A Public Visioning Workshop will be held on May 22, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at the Main Library, Costin Room (Lexington Street). Come learn about the Open Space & Recreation Plan and provide valuable input on current amenities – or lack thereof – and the future of our open space and recreational gems. RSVP at
