September is National Preparedness Month

September is National Preparedness Month, and an opportunity to make sure the community is ready in the event of a disaster. Disasters can happen at any point throughout the year; having a plan to communicate with family, supplies to hold you over, and practicing life-saving skills are important things to have ready.

To prepare, residents are encouraged to visit the City's Emergency Preparedness webpage at www.FraminghamMA.gov/ReadyFramingham, where you can find detailed instructions on:

• How to get updates during emergencies.

• Creating a family communications plan to ensure your household knows where to go, or how to get in contact with each other, in the event not everyone is together.

• Putting together a Vehicle Emergency Kit and Home/Office Emergency Kit.
