Classics Around the World: The American Vernacular, Presented by Pianist Sivan Etedgee, Offered by the Callahan Ctr. for ages 55+

Tuesday, August 23, 2022

For ages 55+ -- Classics Around the World: The American Vernacular -- Presented by Pianist Sivan Etedgee -- Learn about the origins of American Classical music. We’ll begin with the idea of American music, which actually came from European composers including Dvorak and Busoni. Other composers will include Joplin, Gershwin, Gottschalk, and Florence Price. Presenter Sivan Etedgee appears frequently as a recitalist, chamber musician, and lecturer. Committed to making classical music enjoyable for everyone, he establishes an easy rapport with his audiences, giving commentary on the music throughout his concerts. Call the Callahan Ctr. to register by 8/22: 508-532-5980 ext. 0. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Framingham Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, and in part by the Friends of Callahan.
