Presentation on the Massachusetts Community Preservation Act (CPA), sponsored by Framingham’s CPA Study Group

Thursday, December 19, 2019

Framingham City Council established a Community Preservation Act (CPA) Study Group in October 2019 to advise the Council on Framingham’s options for establishing a local Community Preservation Fund. Under the state’s Community Preservation Act, municipalities can create such a fund to support open space protection, historic preservation, outdoor recreation, and community housing through a voter referendum. To date, 176 Massachusetts cities and towns have adopted the CPA. As part of its ongoing research effort, the Study Group has invited Stuart Saginor, Executive Director of the state-wide Community Preservation Coalition, to make a presentation on the history of the CPA, how it works, and the local projects that participating cities and towns have funded through it. The public is welcome to attend this presentation on Thursday, December 17, 2019 at 7:00 pm in the Costin Room of the Framingham Public Library (Main Branch).
