History of U.S. Political Cartoons

Tuesday, August 20, 2019

For ages 55+ - Presented by: Paolo Di Gregorio - Politics and society provide endless fodder for the pens of satirists and pundits. Oftentimes, the most biting and poignant ideas are put forth in the simplest of ways - through the use of an image. Since the 18th century, American political cartoons have enlightened, entertained, divided, and united us. Join Paolo Di Gregorio for a brief history of American political cartoons. Paolo Di Gregorio is a visiting lecturer in the History Department at Bridgewater State University and an instructor in the Anthropology Department at Wheaton College. Please call to sign up in advance: 508-532-5989 This program is supported in part by a grant from the Framingham Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, and in part by the Rosanne Bergman Trust
