MISSION

The mission of the Callahan Center/Senior Services is to improve the healthy aging of a broader segment of the 55 and older population of Framingham by solidifying collaborations in the community to actively reach out to underserved groups by race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation and those with health conditions that otherwise limit their connection to the center.

ABOUT US

The Raymond J. Callahan Center, known as the Callahan Center is a multi-purpose center for people 55 and older, located at 535 Union Avenue in Framingham. This 25,000-square-foot, fully accessible facility offers a wide range of exercise and recreational programs for little or no cost to participants. We welcome older adults from all backgrounds to learn about the services we offer, participate in our programs and make new friends.

Social Services staff are available to provide a broad range of support services, assistance with applying for benefits, and referrals for services that other organizations can provide. We have bilingual staff to assist people who speak Spanish and Portuguese. We are supportive of LGBTQ+ older adults and their allies. Volunteer opportunities for people of all ages are available at the center and in the community. The Callahan Center is one of 120+ centers across the country that have been accredited by the National Councils on Aging/National Institutes of Senior Centers.
