THE CITY HAS SET UP A PHONE NUMBER - (508) 532-5479 - FOR THOSE EXPERIENCING AN EXTREME FOOD EMERGENCY AND WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THESE EMERGENCIES. SOMEONE HAVING AN EXTREME FOOD EMERGENCY IS DEFINED AS A PERSON WHO:

  • Has no ability to access other food resources in Framingham from the organizations listed below.
  • Has no formal or informal networks of support for help getting food.

The following is a list of organizations from which residents
can access emergency food:

1. Framingham Public Schools 

  • Demographic Served: All school-aged children
  • Days of Operation: Monday through Friday
  • Hours of Operation: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

2. A PLACE TO TURN  

A Place to Turn will be open during their regular hours (noted below). 

  • Open to all MetroWest Residents 
  • Days of Operation: Tuesday and Thursday 
  • Hours of Operation:  9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

3. Baypath Elder Services

The Meals on Wheels Program is accepting new referrals. This program is open to people that are:

  • Over the age of 60
  • Homebound
  • Unable to adequately prepare meals
  • Call 508-573-7200 and leave a message if you would like to be enrolled in Meals on Wheels.
    Your call will be returned.

4. Callahan Center

Frozen food is available for residents ages 55 and over. Please call in advance to arrange contactless pickup. Delivery may be possible.

  • Open to residents ages 55 and over
  • Days and Hours of Operation: While some Callahan Employees are working at the Center Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., the Center remains closed to the public.

5. DANIEL’S TABLE 

Daniel’s Table will be open and distributing food. Daniel’s Table is looking for volunteers. To volunteer, please visit: https://www.weallvolunteer.org/

  • Demographic Served: Families with children 0-18 years of age or people over 60 years of age 
  • Days and Hours of Operation: Wednesday: 4 - 6:30 p.m., or Friday: 1 - 3 p.m.

6. Framingham public main library summer lunch program 

The Framingham Public Library will be supplying free summer lunch to children ages 5-18 years of age. This program will run from June 24-August 21, 2020.

  • Open children ages 5-18 years of age. 
  • Days of Operation: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday  
  • Hours of Operation:  12 - 1 p.m.
  • Pick-up Location: Lunches can be picked up at the bus shelter on Lexington Street next to the Main Library.

7. PROJECT BREAD

8. The Salvation Army

  • Open to all residents 
  • Days of Operation: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
  • Food is delivered!

9. UNITED WAY OF TRI-COUNTY - PEARL STREET CUPBOARD & CAFE AT PARK  

  • Open to anyone
  • Days of Operation: Monday-Friday
  • Hours of Operation: 
    • Pantry: 9 a.m., - 1 p.m., (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) and Wednesday: 5 - 7 p.m.
    • Takeout Hot Meals: Monday-Friday, 5:30 - 7 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday, 12 - 1 p.m.

10. wic nutrition program - framingham/waltham  

  • Free supplemental healthy foods for pregnant, breastfeeding, non-breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to 5 years old. Free formula for babies. Virtual and over the phone breastfeeding support 24/7.
  • Offices are currently closed, but services are being provided over the phone. Apply online to participate in WIC.
  • Or, call one of the WIC offices, leave a message in English, Portuguese or Spanish:

11. ymca grab 'n go meals

The YMCA is offering daily grab n' go breakfast and lunch.

  • Demographic served: Open to anyone under 18 years of age
  • Days of Operation: Monday-Friday, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.  (on Friday’s you will receive weekend meals for Saturday and Sunday, 3 breakfasts and 3 lunches)
  • Pick up Locations:
    • YMCA Framingham Regional Branch, 280 Old Connecticut Path, Framingham
      • At the side entrance/pool side of the MetroWest YMCA. Look for a white tent.
    • YMCA Clearbrook Family Swim Club, 120 Parker Road, Framingham
      • In the Clearbrook parking lot. Look for a blue tent.
