The Department of Public Works will restore the roadway on Summer Street from Central Street to Concord Street (5,200 LF) and Beacon Street from Route 9 to Summer Street (4,000 LF). Work includes milling and overlaying the pavement, existing sidewalk restoration with ADA improvements, and redesigned intersections at Beacon and Summer Street and at Summer Street and Central Street.
The majority of the work will take place during the daytime. Traffic management plans (TMP) for the work area will be implemented to ensure the safety of residents, traffic and workers; a map of the TMP will be made available on the project web page.

The majority of the Beacon Street and Summer Street roadway reconstruction work is complete, including new sidewalks and pavement. Final striping is anticipated to take place the week of November 4th, weather permitting.
Work continues at the intersection of Beacon and Summer Street. The City continues to work closely with utility companies to relocate wires and eliminate a key utility pole in the middle of the intersection. Once the utility work is complete, the city can complete the intersection realignment, including curbing, sidewalk, pavement, and crosswalks.
Framingham Public Works seeks to minimize any inconveniences to residents while roadwork improvements are taking place. Please contact us with any questions or concerns, or visit our website for more information:
