The Department of Public Works will restore the roadway on Wickford Road between Fenwick Street and Central Street (1,600 LF). Work includes milling and overlaying the pavement, improvements to the intersection of Linda Avenue, Wickford Road and Fenway Drive, existing sidewalk restoration, and landscaping.
The work will take place during the daytime. A traffic management plan (TMP) for the work area will be implemented to ensure the safety of residents, traffic and workers; a map of the TMP will be made available on the project webpage.
The existing intersection of Linda Avenue, Wickford Road and Fenway Drive requires realignment. The work involves modifying the curbline to better align the intersection. The result is improved safety and accessibility for pedestrians, improved safety and lower speeds for vehicles and an improved roadway surface for all. The DPW will install plantings in the previously paved areas.
