Transit Oriented Development

The Community and Economic Development (CED) Division is involved in a planning process with the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) to re-imagine downtown Framingham as a place to live, work and play. This Transit Oriented Development (TOD) approach seeks to capitalize on the public transit assets of Downtown by introducing new mixed use and multi-family development.

In 2015, Framingham Town Meeting passed new zoning to encourage TOD in our downtown. View the Final Report (PDF). There is more information about the process with MAPC and the TOD efforts at Transit Oriented Development.
