Water Department Projects

The Water Department will be replacing aging water mains, valves, and hydrants on the water distribution system at the following locations between May and November 2018.

1. Waverly Court
This project includes the installation of 400 feet of 8-inch ductile iron main, valves, two hydrants, and service connections from the water main to the property line to replace the existing 6-inch 1960 cast iron main.

2. Upper Jocelyn Avenue
This project includes the installation of 145 feet of 6-inch ductile iron water main and fittings to interconnect the end of the existing 6-inch water main on Upper Jocelyn Avenue to the 8-inch water main on Cherry Street.

3. Wilmont Road
This project includes the installation of 50 feet of 6-inch ductile iron water main and fittings to interconnect the end of the existing 6-inch water main on Wilmont Road to the 8-inch water main on Cherry Street.

4. Salem End Road
This project includes the installation of 2,300 feet of 8-inch ductile iron main, valves, four hydrants, and service connections from the water main to the property line on Salem End Road from Badger Road to Lantern Lane to replace the existing 1926 8-inch cast iron water main.

5. Middlesex Road
This project includes the installation of 550 feet of 8-inch ductile iron main, valves, one hydrant, and service connections from the water main to the property line on Middlesex Road from Union Avenue to Walnut Street to replace the existing 2-inch cast iron water main that dates back to 1921.
