Recycling Carts

The City provides recycling service to residential dwelling of up to 4 dwelling units that receive municipal trash service. One recycling cart is provided to each residential unit. Recycling carts are City property.

Place your cart at the curb with the wheels and handles away from the street. The automated truck requires at least 3 feet of clearance on each side of the cart and 12 feet of overhead clearance. Only recyclables in the cart will be collected; do not overfill or jam cart full of recyclable.

Curbside Recycling Overview

Recyclables are collected weekly. Recycling is now collected single stream; combine all items in your recycling cart. Recycling collection is now fully automated and only materials inside the cart will be collected. Place your recycle cart curbside at the curb by 7 a.m. on your collection day. Recycling carts should be at least 3 feet away from the trash barrels and other objects. Recycling collections are delayed on days following observed holidays.

Single Stream Recycling Preparation

All recyclable materials should be placed in your cart. All materials are sorted and recycled at the processing plant. All recyclables should be empty, clean, and free of food residue. D not bag recyclable materials.

Remove all food residues, and put soiled paper in your regular trash. Cardboard should be cut into pieces small enough to prevent it from becoming lodged in the cart. Place excessive amounts of cardboard next to your recycling cart. Please call 508-532-6001 to schedule pick up.
