The Framingham Economic Development and Industrial Corporation (EDIC) was established in 1995 to stimulate economic development and expand employment opportunities in the Town of Framingham in accordance with the Town's approved economic development plans.

Definition of EDICs
EDICs are quasi-public entities established by a municipality either through Chapter 121C of the Massachusetts General Law or through a Special Act of the legislature through Home Rule Petition. The Framingham EDIC was established by Chapter 124 of the Acts of 1995.
