The Administrative Bureau maintains responsibility for training, property control, crime prevention, recruiting, and the accreditation and inspection process. Under this division the department provides services to the community from a wide range of informational services. The management of off-duty assignments also fall under this division.

This includes the responsibility of review, control, maintenance, retrieval, and distribution of all original reports and documents. They also prepare and submit all fingerprints of arrested persons to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Massachusetts Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.
