What is the difference?
Compost is a soil amendment that results from natural microbial biodegradation.  The final product is screened to remove most sticks and debris, and is suitable as a soil amendment for vegetable gardens and landscaped planting beds or as a top dressing for your lawn.  Compost helps to amend soil structure, improve moisture holding capacity and restore nutrients.

Unscreened compost has undergone the composting process and is fully mature but has not yet been screened to remove large particles.

Wood mulch is used as a final cover for your garden and planting beds to help retain soil moisture and temperature while helping to deter weeds.  Our wood mulch is double ground to produce a finer consistency.  No colors, fertilizers or chemicals are added.
