Major Responsibilities: &lt;BR&gt;
Provides excellent public service. Provides expert guidance using print, databases and online sources, to patrons requesting information. Provides reference support to Library administration and town officials when requested. Maintains the Framingham Public Library website, including updating information, improvements, managing content and dealing with problems and errors. Promotes increased use of library resources through all means possible including but not limited to: the website, social media (Facebook, twitter, tumblr, etc.), press releases, displays within the reference department, outreach when appropriate, programming, book talks and discussions, leading classes and workshops introducing new technologies or resources. Responsible for collection development in assigned areas. Works closely with staff in all departments to improve services and meet patron needs. Participates on committees related to reference services within the library and in our Minuteman network. Troubleshoots library automated equipment as needed. Stays current with online resources and emerging technology related to reference services and applies them to our reference needs. Develops book lists and bibliographic aids. May provide tours. May be in charge of the Main Library evening and weekends. Performs other tasks as required. &lt;BR&gt;

Job Qualifications: &lt;BR&gt;
Masters Degree in Library Science. 1 year public service experience required, library experience preferred. Strong organizational skills; strong public service orientation and skills. Ability to work under pressure. Computer skills required. Familiarity with collection development, specialized reference subject areas, and/or automated sources preferred. Tact, diplomacy, flexibility a must. Familiarity with Spanish or Portuguese desirable. &lt;BR&gt;

Employee must be capable of operating miscellaneous tools and office equipment relative to this position which shall include, but may not be limited to: computers, copiers, fax machines, and calculators. 		<description>The Engineering and Transportation Division within the Public Works Department is responsible for the planning, design and construction of capital roadway and utility infrastructure projects, maintaining compliance with various State &amp;amp; Federal programs such as NPDES Phase II stormwater permit, managing the Town&amp;rsquo;s Street Opening Permit program, reviewing development and redevelopment plans to ensure roadway and utility changes conform to the Town&amp;rsquo;s construction standards, and inspecting modifications and expansions to the roadway, water, sewer and stormwater networks. The Division also provides technical expertise to the operational divisions of the Public Works Department, other Town Departments, and various Boards and Commissions, maintains an extensive Geographical Information System (GIS) and is the custodian of a large collection of irreplaceable paper plans and documents. &lt;BR&gt;
&lt;BR&gt;
Job Purpose: &lt;BR&gt;
To assist department staff and consultants with a variety of engineering tasks including collecting and verifying field information using GPS or other methods, traffic counts, surveying, drafting and design using AutoCAD, legal research, assisting with public education and participation such as a drain marking program, developing maps using GIS software, records management and filing, and preparing schedules, work plans, and cost estimates. &lt;BR&gt;

This is a part-time benefited position. Normal working hours will be from 8:00 AM &amp;ndash; 12:00 PM Monday thru Friday with no lunch break. Additional hours may be required during evening and weekend hours to meet the Town of Framingham&amp;rsquo;s requirements. Employee is required to report to work during snow storms to ensure buildings are cleared free of snow and salted, even if outside normal working hours. Employees schedule and working hours are subject to change with notice to meet the needs of the Town of Framingham. &lt;BR&gt;

Supervision Required: Employee works under the general supervision of the Working Foreman of Facilities Management. Employee is familiar with the work routine and carries out recurring assignments independently. 		<description>The Director of Public Health is responsible for administrative, supervisory, and inspection work in directing the interpretation and enforcement of all applicable federal, state, and local public health and environmental laws, regulations, and codes. Supervision Required: Employee works under the administrative direction of the Town Manager. Work is performed according to Board of Health and municipal policies and objectives; individual establishes short and long-range plans and objectives, own performance standards and assumes direct accountability for department results. Consults with supervisor where clarification, interpretation, or exception to municipal policy may be required. The employee is responsible for the development and implementation of departmental policies, goals, objectives, and operating budgets. The employee is also expected to attempt to resolve conflicts which arise and coordinate with others such as other Town departments, or State and/or Federal agencies as necessary. &lt;BR&gt;
&lt;BR&gt;
Supervisory Responsibility: The Director is accountable for the direction and success of programs accomplished through others. The Director is responsible for analyzing program objectives, determining the various work operations needed to achieve them, estimating the financial and staff resources required, allocating the available funds and staff, reporting periodically on the achievement and status of the program objective; and recommending new goals. The Director typically formulates or recommends program goals and develops plans for achieving short and long-range objectives; determines organizational structure operating guidelines and work operations; formulates, prepares and defends budget and manpower requests and accounts for effective use of funds and staff provided; coordinates program efforts within the unit and with other departments; delegates authority to subordinate supervisors and holds them responsible for the performance of their unit&#39;s work; reviews work in terms of accomplishment of program objectives and progress reports, approves standards establishing quality and quantity of work; and assists or oversees the personnel function, including or effectively recommending hiring, training, and disciplining of employees. &lt;BR&gt;
