FRAMINGHAM, MA – The City of Framingham and the Town of Natick, working with their consultant, have officially released the Draft Golden Triangle Planning Study for public review. The Study can be accessed through the project’s coUrbanize platform at https://bit.ly/2JpSuu4.
Jointly working together, the communities started the process in April 2017 with the goal of providing a clear and achievable future development vision for the study area. The communities sought to answer key questions such as what is the vision of this area, what infrastructure improvements are necessary, how we get there, and what are the expected economic impacts.
Through the establishment of a Golden Triangle Steering Committee, multiple conversations with the consultant, staff, and stakeholders, and a series of public engagement meetings, the Team has created the Golden Triangle Planning Study. The Study includes an existing conditions analysis, development scenarios, and recommended implementation. Implementation contains short- and long-term action items. It is important to keep in mind that the development scenarios portrayed are only examples to demonstrate recommended zoning and design guidelines. It is also important to keep in mind that some of the action items could take many years to implement and would require support not only by the public, but also by the communities, potentially State agencies, and buy-in/cooperation from private property owners.
The Study contains extensive existing conditions data within tables, colorful maps, and photos. An Executive Summary is included in the Study for those seeking to obtain a quicker synopsis of the analysis and its results.
The City of Framingham and Town of Natick are asking the public to review the Study and provide comments. Comments can be provided through the link above or by emailing email@example.com. More information on the Study can also be found at the link above.
