The Town of Framingham is pleased to announce that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency has approved the Town’s 2017 Update to the Multiple Hazard Mitigation Plan (MHMP). The Town of Framingham’s Final Multiple Hazard Mitigation Plan (MHMP) Update 2017 was adopted by the Board of Selectmen and approved by FEMA on April 12, 2017!
The MHMP analyzes any natural hazards that may affect the Town and the Town’s ability to deal with those natural hazards. The Plan – as required by FEMA – is updated every 5 years, which allows the Town to apply for pre-disaster and post-disaster funding. The MHMP Working Group is the entity tasked with updating and implementing the Plan and is composed of various citizens and staff from the Community & Economic Development Division, Fire Department, Public Works Department, and Police Department. The Working Group will begin implementation of the Plan and its action items immediately. The Plan along with more information can be found online at www.framinghamma.gov/MHMP .
