Framingham History Center Annual Meeting

Tuesday, June 20, 2017

After a short annual meeting where we need you, our members and donors, to vote on our budget and slate of officers, author J.L. Bell will speak about his most recent book, The Road to Concord: How Four Stolen Canon Ignited the Revolutionary War. Colonel Henry Knox’s journey from Fort Ticonderoga to Dorchester Heights with his “cannon train” is one of the most famous stories of the Revolutionary War and Framingham was one of the stops on the journey. But what do we really know about Knox’s operation? His diary stops before reaching Framingham, leaving John Adams’ letters as the primary source of information. Adams stopped in Framingham to review the cannon on his way to the Continental Congress in Philadelphia. Mr. Bell will be signing copies of his book following the program. Refreshments will be served.
