This project is intended to compliment the improvements that the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will be making in the downtown area with the Reconstruction of Route 126 (Concord Street) project.
Work in 2017 includes the installation of new granite bollards/rail fence, granite piers and pavers, granite stairs/railings, cement concrete sidewalks, brick surface areas, new period lighting, regrading, resetting of street curb and other items to complete proposed improvements
Summer Construction was steady, but delays in the manufacturing of new rail fencing and delivery of the ornamental lighting delayed completion of the work. The new rail fencing is now ready and scheduled for installation during the week of September 5-8. The delivery and installation of the outstanding ornamental lighting is expected later in the month of September. The new sod (installed in August) should be established by the time the lighting is installed, and allow for opening to the public.
