EVERSOURCE DOWNTOWN UTILITY PROJECT
The current electrical facilities in the Downtown Framingham area are at capacity. Eversource Energy is installing new conduit and manholes through the Downtown area from Hollis Street at Claflin Street to north of the Memorial Building.
These updates will prevent further disruption of electrical service in the Downtown area and provide for future needs due to increased demand and development. The intent is for this work to be completed prior to, or in conjunction with, the Reconstruction of Route 126 Downtown Roadway Improvements Project currently underway by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. This project includes the installation of a total of 20 concrete vaults and approximately 3,800 linear feet of conduit as well as the construction of a conduit sleeve beneath the rail crossing in Concord Street.
This project is substantially completed. This work will be managed by Eversource (formerly NStar Electric).
