MassDOT-Hollis Street Culvert Replacement
The reconstruction of the structurally deficient culvert over a brook fed by Waushakum Pond on Hollis Street is a Massachusetts Department of Transportation project.
The culvert construction will require closing half of the roadway and performing the work in stages. Traffic will be maintained on a single-lane traffic management plan for the duration of construction with either a detour or alternating one-way operation in place.
The work includes, but is not limited to: replacing the existing culvert with a 32” x 50” elliptical reinforced concrete pipe, construction of headwalls, removal of existing pavement, reconstruction with full depth pavement; removing and resetting curb, removing and replacing guardrail, modifications to existing driveways, relocation of existing utilities, the application of pavement markings, and modifications to the existing right of way.
There will be a time when that section of road is closed and there will be a planned detour in effect.
This MassDOT project is still in the design phase.
