FRAMINGHAM CONSTRUCTION TRAFFIC ALERT FOR THE WEEK OF August 22-26, 2016 (Construction schedules are weather permitting.)
ARLINGTON STREET: The Eversource contractor will install a new gas main and services. Expect parking restrictions and moderate delays.
AVON STREET: Installation of a new sewer main, laterals and manholes will continue. Expect delays.
BEACON STREET: The Eversource contractor will install a new gas main on Beacon Street from Cochituate Road to Chubb Road. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be utilized and police details will be onsite to facilitate traffic. Expect delays.
BEAVER STREET AND KENDALL AVENUE: Sidewalk and curbing work will continue during the week. Expect delays.
CONCORD STREET/HOLLIS STREET (Route 126) DOWNTOWN FRAMINGHAM RECONSTRUCTION: Milling of the roadway will begin on Wednesday, August 24th and Thursday August 25th on Hollis Street from Hollis Court to Waverly Street. During the week, electrical contractors will be working on the new traffic signals and installing cable. Expect delay, parking restrictions and detours where necessary.
On Sunday, August 21st and Monday, August 22nd in the overnight hours of 7:00PM to 5:00AM, Eversource contractors will be performing pavement restoration on Hollis Street between Claflin Street and Hollis Court. Expect delays.
DANFORTH STREET AREA: Final paving preparations will take place on Danforth Street (from the bridge to Concord Street), Kings Court and Mechanic Street. Expect minimum delays.
DYER STREET: Installation of ADA compliant sidewalk ramps will continue. Expect minor delays.
ELMFIELD ROAD AND GRIFFIN ROAD: The water and sewer contractor will begin work. Detours may be in place. Expect minor delays.
FOUNTAIN STREET/WINTER STREET: Contractors will continue temporary water main bypass work. Expect moderate delays.
ROUTE 9 BRIDGE OVER FOSS RESERVOIR OUTLET: Construction continues on the southern section of the bridge. Expect moderate delays.
ROUTE 9 PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE NEAR FRAMINGHAM STATE UNIVERSITY: MassDOT has closed the bridge for structural repairs. Pedestrians must utilize the Edgell Road Bridge to cross Rt. 9.
SPEEN STREET: Contractors will begin the installation of a temporary water main bypass. Expect moderate delays.
UNION AVENUE: Contractors will continue to work off the roadway at the Callahan Senior Center. Expect minimum delays.
WINTER STREET: Eversource will be installing a new gas main on Winter Street from the MWRA Bridge northbound. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be utilized and police details will be onsite to facilitate traffic. Expect delays.
WORCESTER ROAD (Between Route 126 and the Natick Town Line): Contractors will be surveying and conducting borings in advance of water and sewer construction in the area. Expect minor delays.
